The new site for the SFA was designed based on the IBEC Internet Style Guide originally developed by Arekibo for IBEC on the completion of the IBEC Corporate site redesign. The purpose of the style guide was to help IBEC offer its business sectors a simple and cost effective means of developing a website. Arekibo have since designed a series of sites based upon the new IBEC site template structure as dictated by this style guide.
Essentially the guide offers each sector the ability to customize the design and brand of their site while still keeping within the agreed template structure. The style guide also enables each sector to resolve simply their information requirements for their site by selecting one of the information and navigation structure options pre-defined in the guide.
Overall the guide has therefore delivered significant and proven savings in terms of development costs and time, and has helped IBEC to implement a universal navigation and information layout for both the Corporate and all the sector sites. In real terms this means that the Internet Style Guide has been applied to over 25 sector sites and has helped both IBEC and all of the sectors efficiently manage and update their sites while focusing on delivering a better service to all of their members.
