Google Posts Is Released In Ireland

If your organisation hasn’t already set up your Google My Business page, then maybe now is the time. After remaining pretty stationary in terms of product development for the past few years, Google seem to be investing more and more in the platform lately. Following on from the release of their website builder for small businesses earlier this year, Google have now rolled out Google Posts worldwide.

What are Google Posts?

Essentially, Google Posts are a new feature for Google My Business pages that allow businesses to create short pieces of content that will appear on the organisations GMB page but also within Google Search and Google Maps results for brand search terms.

What are the benefits of Google Posts?

An extra little click through booster from the Google SERP hopefully! Google posts appear within your organisations Knowledge Panel in the search results, when triggered by a branded search. google posts released for google my business pages 2

How do I set up a Google Post?

  1. Go to your GMB account and click on “Posts” on the left-side menu when you are in your Google business listing.

And that’s it! Now your post will appear in Google SERP and Maps results. Your post will remain in these results for 7 days after which it will be removed (in order to encourage fresh content according to Google). The only exception to this is events which remain in the results until after the event end date has passed.
