Know Your Arekibian : Cian
Next on our "Know Your Arekibian" series is Cian, a project manager with a passion for fishing.
What was your journey to Arekibo?
I've had a bit of a winding road to get to Arekibo. Following my studies in Marketing communications, I worked for a small amount of time in the creative department of an advertising agency in Dublin, before finally finding my place as an account manager. I've since worked with a couple of great teams in other digital agencies over an 8 year period, with a brief sabbatical from the digital world to help my brother open a pizza restaurant, before joining Arekibo.
One thing most people don’t know about you?
I have an extra rib (spare rib)..
Project you’re most proud of?
Shannon Airport redesign and development. This was a great collaboration with the Shannon Airport team to redevelop their website and move it over to the Kentico platform, while making improvements to the UX and UI.
3 things you have learned during your time in Arekibo?
- I thought I had a good understanding of development until I joined Arekibo.
- The real value in user testing where budget allows to ensure a user-centric design.
- The value in documentation throughout the project lifecycle (which can sometimes be overlooked or rushed).
One thing you can’t work without?
I'm not one of these people that can skip meals. I get very cranky if I don't have my food...
Favourite thing about your job?
There's never a dull moment, working with various clients across a broad range of industries.
One skill you’ve gained since joining Arekibo?
Definitely improved on my development lingo
Apple or Android? Why?
I want to move from Apple but have Stockholm syndrome.
