Know Your Arekibian : Rachel

This week on our "Know Your Arekibian" series is our business development manager, Rachel, who loves playing golf and eating sushi. Find out more about Rachel below:

What was your journey to Arekibo?

I went to college in cork, from there I moved to Bordeaux for 3 years to work and then I moved back to Ireland where I started as a lead generation specialist. I then became Business Development Executive within the same company.

One thing most people don't know about you?

I’m fluent in French. Sometimes when I get very tired I tend to throw in french words into sentences without knowing... this also happens after a glass of wine!

3 things you have learned during your time in Arekibo?

  1.  The value of User testing – As Bill Gates once said ‘ We all need people who will give us feedback, that is how we improve.’ Until you understand your customers, deeply and genuinely, you cannot truly serve them.

  2. Stop multitasking. It can be tempting to want to take care of a few tasks at once, especially if they seem small or easy. But I’ve learned to block out the distractions and focus on one task at a time.

  3. How valuable our team in Arekibo is.

One thing you can't work without?

LinkedIn – it is certainly the most important tool I use.

Favourite thing about your job?

Connecting with new people. As business development I attend a lot of conferences and events but also every day I try and make 15 relevant new contacts.

Apple or Android?

Definitely Android!
