Know Your Arekibian : Rachel
This week on our "Know Your Arekibian" series is our business development manager, Rachel, who loves playing golf and eating sushi. Find out more about Rachel below:
What was your journey to Arekibo?
I went to college in cork, from there I moved to Bordeaux for 3 years to work and then I moved back to Ireland where I started as a lead generation specialist. I then became Business Development Executive within the same company.
One thing most people don't know about you?
I’m fluent in French. Sometimes when I get very tired I tend to throw in french words into sentences without knowing... this also happens after a glass of wine!
3 things you have learned during your time in Arekibo?
-
The value of User testing – As Bill Gates once said ‘ We all need people who will give us feedback, that is how we improve.’ Until you understand your customers, deeply and genuinely, you cannot truly serve them.
-
Stop multitasking. It can be tempting to want to take care of a few tasks at once, especially if they seem small or easy. But I’ve learned to block out the distractions and focus on one task at a time.
-
How valuable our team in Arekibo is.
One thing you can't work without?
LinkedIn – it is certainly the most important tool I use.
Favourite thing about your job?
Connecting with new people. As business development I attend a lot of conferences and events but also every day I try and make 15 relevant new contacts.
Apple or Android?
Definitely Android!
