The Central Bank of Ireland is Ireland's central bank and is part of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). They are committed to being an independent, forthright and influential organisation with a vision of being 'Trusted by the Public, Respected by our Peers, Fulfilling Workplace for our People'. Digital is a primary communication channel and offers a single destination serving all audiences.
We were commissioned to redesign the organisation's online presence, tasked with creating a modern and accessible website that delivered an intuitive experience for all audiences. The bank required a new digital communications platform, tailored to support the next generation of the Banks strategic objectives.
We worked in collaboration with the Banks senior leadership to assess and define the new communication strategy for digital. The objective was to design a process that would establish a methodology and team to plan, manage and sustain a curated and focused online communication channel for the public and national and international audiences.
Our collaboration has delivered a new digital operational model that enables the Bank to scale the growth of their digital channels.
The design process was highly collaborative and we worked throughout with the leadership team, workshopping, iterating and evolving the new digital identity.
Our objective was to ensure that all senior stakeholders had a vested interest in the creation of the new online presence. The design process also ensured that the Bank’s leadership understood the ambition and long-term commitment required to develop and manage the new website. The new digital identity provides a modern, responsive and scalable visual interface.
Concepts for the new online experience were tested during the design process with target customers, the results providing a balanced and considered assessment of both internal expectations and external needs. A reconceived navigation hierarchy delivers an intuitive and accessible experience for expert and novice audiences.
As websites have evolved the requirement for intelligent and multifaceted content management platforms have become fundamental to the growth of all digital-first businesses. The Central Bank of Ireland is no different, they required a platform that would support their new digital operational model and facilitate the management of their online presence across the organisation. We deployed Progress Sitefinity, the Gartner recognised web content management system, developing the website upon their enterprise edition. Sitefinity provides all authorised employees with a suite of online marketing, content management, and team-workflow tools to accelerate and grow the Banks online presence.
We supported the Bank to develop a digital operational model to ensure the evolution and growth of their digital presence would be appropriately resourced, be sustainable and fully endorsed by the Banks leadership. We also designed and implemented a managed hosting and support model to provide an uninterrupted and secure platform.
Since the new online presence was launched in April 2017, our team have partnered with the Banks Communications and IT teams to support and manage the website.
