Unlike search adverts, display advertising appears on actual websites rather than in search results. Adverts are delivered via various ad networks, the largest of which is the Google Display Network.

Display advertising’s reputation has taken a hit over recent years – between the emergences of ad blocking software along with new, more engaging types of digital advertising.
