Celebrating the Artists
Aosdána is the affiliation of creative artists in Ireland that honours artists in the visual arts, literature, music, choreography, and architecture, and assists them in their artistic practice.
“Aosdána is an autonomous affiliation of artists, established by government in 1981 to honour artists whose work had made an outstanding contribution to the creative arts in Ireland, and to assist members, where necessary, to devote their energies full-time to the practice of their art." - Aosdána Beginnings by Mark Duncan.
Architected for Growth

The existing Aosdána site had become outdated and no longer served its growing audience.
We worked closely with the Arts Council to:
- Audit and restructure the site’s information architecture
- Design intuitive pathways to artist profiles, Cnuas (funding support), and news.
- Ensure that the content can be easily managed and expanded by using the capabilities of the WordPress platform.
The new design and content structure are built to support discovery, enabling users to explore artists by discipline, in alphabetical listings, and curated highlights.
Designed for Simplicity
- We harnessed the visual identity to reflect a minimalist and elegant digital experience.
- Focus on enhancing readability across all platforms.
- Design components were developed to ensure a consistent experience across all pages.
- A simple and elegant way to find the Aosdana artists.
- Support for English and Gaelige languages.
- Built to be WCAG 2.1 AA compliant.
